Our Story
Welcome to our site! My name is Mandi, and I own and run FURevermore Boxers with my husband, Russell, and our children. We cherish our time with our family and fur babies, so we strive to make our owners feel like FUR-mily too. We will be with you every step of the way from your very first questions, to choosing your puppy, to long after you take your new FUR-mily member home. We want everyone to know our story and how our love for the Boxer breed was born.
Let me share how FURevermore all began…
Our good friend, Megan gave our family the most wonderful gift over a decade ago, a beautiful, solid white Boxer named Bella. Our entire family was taken with Bella. We worked with her to learn basic commands and to train her. She was a fast learner and so affectionate and kind. We built her a big dog house so that she could stay outside during the day and would not be all cooped up inside while we were at work and school. She loved to soak up the warm South Carolina sun all day and spend warm cozy nights cuddled up with us.
One afternoon we came home and noticed a hole dug under the fence. We didn’t think a lot about it at the time, just filled it in and let it go. Then, over the next few weeks, I noticed that Bella was trying to get my attention way more than usual. It was almost like she was trying to let me know that something wasn’t quite right. Still, she seemed okay, so I shrugged it off.
Shortly thereafter, we learned from our neighbor that the dog who lived across the street had been in our fence on Valentines day. My mind started connecting the dots, the hole under the fence and Bella trying to get my attention.
Lots of things were going through my mind. I thought to myself- What am I going to do with puppies? How do I take care care of these fur babies- and Bella? My husband and I learned a lot FAST. We talked with our veterinarian and did A LOT of research online about how to deliver and care for puppies. Still, I felt unprepared for what was next.
On April 26, 2013 at 5:00a.m Bella started labor. I was so excited and so scared at the same time. A few hours later, we had a full litter of 9 puppies. When I laid my eyes on those babies with Bella, I knew what my passion was. The best part, I learned, was yet to come. Finding the best homes for each of those sweet babies was the best feeling in the world. Our sweet Bella became our mascot and inspiration for FURevermore Boxers.
FURevermore,
Our Beloved Bella
